In Tibetan Thangka Palden Lhamo showing riding a white mule across a vast sea of blood. Although this imagery may seem unsettling, it is deeply symbolic. The red blood sea represents the ocean of suffering experienced by sentient beings, while her fearless journey across it demonstrates her commitment to guiding practitioners beyond ignorance and toward liberation. According to traditional accounts, the mule is draped with the skin of her son, symbolizing her complete renunciation of worldly attachment in order to uphold her sacred vow of protecting the Dharma.

The Palden Lhamo is known as Sridevi, who the principal female Dharma Protector (Dharmapala) in Tibetan Buddhism. who one of the most captivating and spiritually significant forms in the Gelug tradition and is also respected other Tibetan Buddhist Schools. Among the many sacred images found in Tibetan Buddhist art, the Palden Lhamo Thangka stands out as one of the most powerful and visually striking.
