
This beautiful hand painted Tibetan thangka painting depicts 4 armed Chenrezig སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ / Avalokiteshvara - Known as the buddha of compassion and the patron deity of Tibet.
At the top of the thangka are the 5 Dhyani Buddhas, representing the Buddhas of the Five Families: from right to left are Amoghasiddhi Buddha དོན་ཡོད་གྲུབ་པ། (green in color), Amitabha Buddha འོད་དཔག་མེད། (red color), Vairochana Buddha རྣམ་པར་སྣང་མཛད། (white color), Ratnasambhava Buddha རིན་ཆེན་འབྱུང་གནས། (yellow color) and Akshobhya Buddha མི་བསྐྱོད་པ། (blue color).
At the bottom are Vajrapani ཕྱག་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ། (on the right, blue in color) and Mañjushri འཇམ་དཔལ།
The thangka is painted entirely by hand on cotton canvas using natural mineral and vegetable pigments with 24K gold details. The complicated designs, intricate brushstrokes, and extraordinary detail make these thangkas authentic works of Buddhist art.
